We make games out of what we live inside, to give it a shape you can put your hands on.

What we’re making

3 games in progress.

A translucent single cell floating in a dark world.

In development

A single cell stays alive on its own, and what that took is still on its body. Then it meets another — and neither of them has to disappear for the two to hold.

A grocery counter with a televised speech and a city street outside.

In development

Two people, one economy. As one of them, you set the interest rate the whole country has to live with. As the other, four quarters later, you’re the one paying for it at the counter.

A cat medallion above balancing scales, framed by Florentine buildings.

In development

Florence, 1494. At the table, the only way to make a deal bigger is to show what you actually want — and that is what they will have on you later. You write the contracts. Nothing can enforce them anymore.

No one will tell you what it meant.

Most people meet all this when it already counts — real money, real time, someone real on the other side. In a game, the thing you get to look at is what you did. That’s why we make them.

Each game gives you somewhere to stand inside one, and you find out what standing there takes. What you carry out is yours to name, and yours to keep.

What’s underneath is built to be right, not just to feel right. We keep notes on our thinking.

Mudtus is mud and lotus. Root, soil, water, bloom — each belongs to the same living world, and we start there, in the ordinary things we share.
